Learn how to use the School Meal App to order meals for your children

Getting Started

Welcome to the School Meal App!

This app allows you to order school meals for your children, manage their budgets, and track their meal preferences.

Step 1: Login

Use your email address and password to log into the app. If you don't have an account, contact your school administrator.

Step 2: Select Your Child

If you have multiple children, use the dropdown menu in the header to switch between them.

Step 3: View Available Meals

Browse through the available meals for the selected date range. You can view meals for 30, 60, 90, or 180 days ahead.

Meal Ordering

How to Order Meals

Step 1: Browse Meals

On the main page, you'll see a grid of available meals organized by date. Each meal card shows:

  • Meal name and description
  • Meal type (Regular or Vegetarian)
  • Price (fixed price set by the school)
  • Date the meal is available

Step 2: Place Your Order

To order a meal:

  1. Find the meal you want to order
  2. Click the 'Order' button (green button with plus icon)
  3. The meal will be marked as ordered and your budget will be deducted

Step 3: Cancel an Order

To cancel an order:

  1. Find the ordered meal (marked with a checkmark)
  2. Click the 'Cancel' button (red button with X icon)
  3. Your budget will be refunded

Pro Tip

You can only order one meal per day per child. If you order a different meal for the same day, the previous order will be automatically cancelled.

Budget Management

Understanding Your Budget

Budget Display

Your child's budget is displayed in several places:

  • Header section showing current balance
  • Quick budget summary below the header
  • Budget page with detailed information

Budget Updates

Your budget is automatically updated when:

  • You place a meal order (amount is deducted)
  • You cancel a meal order (amount is refunded)
  • School administrators add funds to your account

Important Notes

  • You cannot order meals if your budget is insufficient
  • Contact your school administrator to add funds to your account
  • Budget balances are updated in real-time

Managing Multiple Children

Switching Between Children

Child Selector

If you have multiple children:

  1. Look for the child selector dropdown in the header
  2. Click on the dropdown to see all your children
  3. Select the child you want to manage
  4. The page will refresh showing that child's meals and budget

Managing Each Child

Each child has their own:

  • Meal orders and preferences
  • Budget balance
  • Order history

Pro Tip

You can quickly switch between children to compare their meal preferences or check their individual budgets.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions

Can't Order Meals

Possible causes:

  • Insufficient budget - contact administrator to add funds
  • Meal price not set - contact administrator
  • Past date - you can only order for future dates

Budget Not Updating

Possible causes:

  • Page needs refresh - try refreshing the page
  • Network issue - check your internet connection
  • System delay - wait a few minutes and try again

Can't See My Child

Possible causes:

  • Child not linked to your account - contact administrator
  • Account type mismatch - ensure you have a parent account
  • System error - contact technical support

Click green 'Order' button on meal card

Use date buttons (30, 60, 90, 180 days) or custom input
